To all my friends in darts,
I wanted to start spreading the message about the Greater Trenton Dart League’s annual charity event. As we have in the past, we are partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey. This will be out 7th year hosting the event, and we’ve collected over $85,000 so far. This year we should cross the $100,000 mark – come help us by being part of that milestone.
Date: Saturday, April 28th, 2012. Doors open at noon, Darts start at 1 PM and go to about 6 or 7, If people keep spending money, we’ll keep shooting!!!
Location: Cook Athletic Association, 411 Hobart Ave, Trenton NJ
sponsorpackage12.pdf - This is to help out by sponsoring the event. Ad rates start as low as $50. We do an ad-book and a T-shirt with all sponsors in them. Consider helping by having your league/association buy an ad. If you really want to help, see if your employer or your company (if you represent /own one) might also buy an ad. Items work too – we have door prizes, raffles and a silent auction at the event too.
Flier12.pdf – This is the flier for the event. Please post this on your league website to help us generate exposure for the event. People can follow along on our website http://www.trentondarts.com or contact me with questions. My info is on the flier.
We also sell $5 raffles from now up to the event (or we sell them out). Winning prizes are a 50″ TV, iPad2 and an XBox w/ Kinect. If you want to buy any raffles, let me know.
Some of you have been at the event in the past. I hear only good things from those in attendance, so we must be doing something right. It would be great to see the community come together as it often does for a good cause, a fun day and a few beers. Consider showing up for part of the day.
Real quickly – its not a tournament, so being on time doesn’t matter. Donation at the door, then a $5 entry to throw 51 darts for high score. That’s it. Highest scores each hour and overall for the day get a cash prize ($50/hour, $100 overall). We also do a 4 person team entry for trophies. The goal is to focus on the charity and raising money.
So, to recap – the GTDL raises money to benefit the MAWFNJ. Dart players are awesome and support anything where they can have fun, shoot darts and drink (oh, private club – cheap beer!). Darts leagues around the state send checks to sponsor the event. Dart players are awesome! We raise a ton of money, and don’t just cross the $100,000 mark, we completely destroy it. Did I mention, dart players are awesome!!!
Thanks everyone. Let me know if you have questions, ideas, know someone who might know someone who might help (from the NJ States, someone knows someone at Sportcraft – does anyone know who that is?). Every bit helps!
Talk to you soon – shoot ‘em straight!
Gary
